Portal Generator
The City Council needed an intelligent portal that could be managed by its employees.
Go to siteSant Cugat del Vallès is a municipality in Spain of 75,000 inhabitants with an average age of 35 years old. It is a leading economic center in new technology development and has great human capital. These characteristics made it almost obligatory for the municipality to have one of the most advanced Internet use policies in Spain.
The Challenge
The City Council of Sant Cugat needed to create and maintain a large number of web pages and applications with a lean staff. The goal was to make Internet projects more citizen-oriented, intuitive, usable and segmented by profiles. It was also essential to integrate content management with other City applications and platforms, which would facilitate content syndication.
Kanecode created a tool for creating and managing content in an intuitive way without the need for programming language skills. The tool enables any department of the city council to update and improve the contents and pages of the official website.
The content management tool is also being used to develop and maintain municipal bulletins, a subscription service for citizen alerts via cell phone, and online procedures of the Barcelona Provincial Council and the "Generalitat de Catalunya."
